A Charlotte, North Carolina native, Steve Goldberg spent the first part of his career in New York, working in publishing, public relations, and entertainment marketing. Prior to that, he attended the University of Georgia, graduating from the Terry School of Business. While in college, he gained his first experience in television, working as an extra in the adaptation of the Oscar winning film Breaking Away. In New York, he began writing for major magazines, newspapers, wire services and television, contributing features, interviews, and coverage of sporting events including the Olympics, FIFA World Cup, NBA Finals, US Open Tennis, and Super Bowl. He also began to write for the entertainment industry, developing film story lines and scripts,television concepts and programs. He left New York to serve as chief press officer for the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games. Goldberg continues to write for major media, works as a media and communications consultant and is working on several book projects.
