Darius McCall

Nominated for Best Lead Actor in his role as Franco Wicks (Superior Donuts), Darius McCall has performed in both contemporary and classical roles such as Thomas (The Shipment), Wil Parish (Flyin' West), and Old King (The Bloody Banquet). Darius trained with a renowned acting teacher, Wynn Handman in New York, NY. He also trained in voice, classical movement, stage speech, Shakespeare, the Stanislavski Method, Meisner and Stella Adler's techniques at the Studio Theatre Conservatory in Washington, DC. The most recent Off-Off-Broadway work was Twin Restaurants, Dibs! and a solo-show where he performed all of Romeo's lines, (One Man Romeo). He has played a featured role in straight-to-DVD indie-film, The Shattered Mind. Darius is a rider of horses and shoots at his local firing range. He is now an Advanced Beginner in Spanish and is fluent in American Signed Language (ASL). Darius is also a former ASL-rapper who has traveled to Japan, South America, Canada, and the Caribbean Islands. Darius is looking forward to obtaining his Equity and SAG-AFTRA card!
