Maxine Sanders born in Cheshire, is a prominent member of Traditional Wicca and co-founder with her late husband, Alex Sanders, of Witchcraft's Alexandrian Tradition. Of catholic education, Maxine studied in School Convent of San Jose, in Manchester. During the 1960s, she was introduced to Alex Sanders by her mother. In 1964, while studying at the secretarial school, she was initiated into Coven by Alex Sanders. Maxine and Alex passed the "Handfast"(Handfast = wedding) ritual the following year. In 1968 Maxine married Alex Sanders in a civil ceremony and moved with Alex to a ground floor apartment near Notting Hill Gate in London. In the same year her daughter Maya is born and in 1972 is born her son, Victor Sanders. In 1974, Maxine and Alex separate. Later, around 1976, Maxine Sanders created her own Coven (Temple of the Mother) celebrating the sacred rites of the Tradition, facilitating an intense and rigorous training to those who had a sincere heart and a devotional passion for Craft. Today Maxine Sanders continues to practice Tradition, being a member, at this time, of the Coven of the Stag King.
