Professional rugby player, Kelly Russell was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her parents are Judy and Sandy Russell. Growing up in Bolton, Ontario, she began playing rugby when she was 14 years old. In 2009, Kelly graduated from Western University in London, Ontario, with a Bioarchaeological Anthropology degree. From 2011-2014 she was captain of Canada's Women's Fifteens Team. Competing in the 2016 Rio Olympics, she won a bronze medal with her team.
