Born in Nebraska, Walker eventually moved to the San Franciso Bay area, where she began her media and acting career. She began it in radio, ended it in theater, and in between the two she enjoyed working with TV and video. Though she was very comfortable in front of the camera, she enjoyed editing and working behind the scenes more than she liked being an actress. Her first media adventure was as a co-host and co-producer, with Judith Heumann, of a Pacific Radio program called "Disability Rap." This award-winning, weekly one-half hour interview show discussed various topics related to disability. Most of her acting credits are for work in industrial videos. Her best paying jobs were 3 productions she worked on for the BBC. Her most-viewed performance was in a video short called "Notes on a Layed-Back Production, aired nation-wide several times, via satellite on Deep Dish TV.
