Chester was immersed in theatre as an actor, director and writer when he escaped the civil war in Sierra Leone to the UK in the mid 90s. Chester became a filmmaker when he studied and made his first short in 2000 in London, and a citizen journalist when he picked up a camera to investigate British political, urban and social culture from 2003 to 2023. Chester is fascinated by a world of storytelling as he studied, made films and worked in various jobs observing the world around him. Chester's films reveal a unique and captivating perspective of a world in constant political and social battles for freedom, justice, security and democracy. A world in constant turmoil and change. He has captured some moments in the history of politics in the UK and in Sierra Leone no other filmmakers had dared to document. In 2011, he founded CY Film Productions. His films did not only reveal the truth about the state of our political, social and economic world but are unique in it's characters, footage and storytelling. After graduating from the National film and television school (NFTS) studying Fiction Directing in 2006 and running his production company, Chester has made several independent films that sold to broadcasters around the world and premiered in many international film festivals, including the UK. He is in development of four feature films and two series. His recent films Earth Lion, Sudden Thunder (2023), a short martial arts action thriller and his investigative feature documentary called The Great Schools Robbery (2022) are to be released later in 2023. Chester is inspired to bring a new vision into the film industry with his work. To interpret what he has learnt and observed from following political uprisings in Africa and in Europe to great stories that will not only educate but to inspire and entertain a world audience.
