Mayur made a documentary in India with a Transgender group in 2015. It invigorated his soul and from which the concept of his first feature film Ek Aasha was born. Ek Aasha has won many awards and been shown in 20 International Film Festivals so far. Mayur has written, directed and produced Ek Aasha - a ground-breaking film. Mayur has been honing his art and craft by writing, directing, shooting, editing and producing 10 short films. Mayur works as Business Administration Manager, Monash University, Australia. He is a trained counsellor and an experienced mindfulness trainer. He has a Bachelor in Engineering and Master in IT from Australia. Mayur has won, for Ek Aasha, the Best Débutante Director award at the Lakecity International Film Festival, India and Australia Independent Film Festival. He also won the Best Director award (Silver) at the India International Film Festival, India. Mayur's first film Ek Aasha was awarded the Best Alternative Film at the 11th New Hope Film Festival, Pennsylvania, USA (Festival is touted as the "emerging 'Sundance East'" in a Huffington Post article). It was also awarded the Best Film at the India International Film Festival, Best Feature Film (LGBT) at the Lifft India Filmotsav-World Cine Fest, India.
