Wilfred Spears

Wilfred "Valid" Spears is an American television producer who was born and raised in Chicago's Southside Auburn-Gresham neighborhood. He graduated from Simeon High School, and while studying at Northeastern Illinois University, was granted the opportunity to work on MSNBC's "CrackHouse USA" Documentary. This opportunity solidified his commitment to film and increased his passion for giving an authentic perspective on the realities of Drugs, Gangs, Violence, survival, etc. while focusing on integrity and giving a voice to under-served communities. Wil's knowledge of street life as well as his research experience has made him a master at depicting the realities of under-served communities. He has been in the film industry for a while now and shows no sign of stopping, producing dozens of projects for networks such as National Geographic, MSNBC, Viceland, "Unreported World" Channel 4 UK and Showtime. As Wil is very respected in film and street life, he remains committed to reaching back and uplifting under-served communities by speaking out against violence and encouraging Higher Education.
