Ry Russell started his career taking over operations of the nation's 2nd oldest drive-in movie theater, in Saco, Maine. After winning Honda's project drive-in, Ry co-founded the Dead at the Drive-In film festival with Corey Norman, featuring independent filmmakers within the horror genre. Ry as an entrepreneur later founded the bioplastics company, Knot Plastic, while continuing along his path and pursuits in the world of new media. In 2018, Ry became the Podcast host of the Cannabis Industry podcast, WeedBudz Radio, and quickly became a recognized speaker on sustainability, business development, and emerging industries. Ry has continued his podcast production career and began hosting 7 different podcasts, talk shows, and video series ranging across a variety of genres, topics, and platforms. In early 2020, at the beginning of the global pandemic, Ry became frustrated with the opportunity that social media took to spread divisive content across its channels and this inspired Ry and co-creator Nathaniel Lee to write and produce a short film for Facebook Watch, titled The Ripple Effect. The Ripple Effect was the duos way of inspiring the world to break the chain and produce content that moves the world in positive ways.
