Jack Silver is an Offie Award nominated director, actor, and writer based in London. He trained in acting at The Poor School, with further training from The Actors Class and The Impulse Company, before studying Directing for Theatre at The Royal Conservative of Scotland. As well as his film acting, writing, and directing Jack is an experienced stage actor, having appeared in Wonderland at Hampstead Theatre (Dir: Ed Hall), as well as various leading roles on the London Fringe. His theatre directing debut was an immersive re-imagination of Confessional by Tennessee Williams, which was transported from 1950s California to a grotty modern day British pub in Southend on Sea. The play premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2015 where it sold out and was met with a string of 4 and 5 star reviews, with The Stage calling it a "mini-masterpiece of theatre." Confessional transferred to London's Southwark Playhouse in 2016 staring Lizzie Stanton, Rob Ostlere (Game of Thrones, Holby City), Gavin Brocker (Cass, Mapp & Lucia), and Tim Harker (Peaky Blinders). It broke the theatre's box office record and gained 2 Off West-End Award nominations including Best Director, as well as more 4 & 5 star reviews. Before becoming an actor Jack had a successful career as a web designer and journalist, published a best-selling book, and lived various parts of the UK, Spain, and the Caribbean.
