Chris Ferera was born in Riverside, California, where he was raised by his parents Chris, a salesman, and Deborah Ferera, a psychologist. His mother is of English, Scottish, and Irish ancestry, and his father is of Italian and Portuguese descent. Chris is the oldest of four brothers; Caleb, Jacob, and Tyler. He was educated at La Sierra High School in Riverside where he received a football scholarship to Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota. Here in South Dakota was where Chris got his first taste of acting in an undergrad acting course. After a football injury derailed his athletic career, Chris began fully investing in theatre. He graduated with a degree in History and Political Science and immediately started working at a summer stock theatre company in Brookings, South Dakota called Prairie Repertory Theatre. After directing and acting in over a dozen shows in the Midwest, Chris finally decided to move back to Los Angeles where he earned his MFA in Acting at the New York Film Academy. Chris teaches, writes, and coaches football in his spare time.
