Travis Kent was born in Walnut Creek, California and raised in Littleton, Colorado from the age of two. After halfhearted attempts at a dozen or so little league sports, Travis fell in love with Irish dance after seeing a commercial for Riverdance on PBS. When he reached high school, Travis immersed himself in the arts, joining the top ranking mixed choir and taking part in every school production. He was also the senior class president. Travis planned on studying architectural engineering at Cal Poly, but a chance visit to NYC before application season changed the course of his life. He applied early decision to NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and was accepted. He studied at the Atlantic Theater Company and CAP21 in his time at NYU, appearing in numerous indie and MainStage productions including a cabaret at Joe's Pub directed by two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster. Since graduating from NYU, Travis has worked professionally at theaters across the country while maintaining a robust creative profile in NYC. He made his Broadway debut in 2016 in Seth Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick's Disaster! at the Nederlander Theatre.
