Marc Todd Ashbourne was born on April 2, 1968, in the small Northern California town of Yuba City. He is the third of seven children born to his parents, Scott and Carolyn. Growing up as one of the middle children in such a large family with three brothers and three sisters, Marc often found himself playing several roles in the lives of his family. Whether it was competing with the television set for the family's attention (starting at the age of three), or appearing on stage in whatever play was being produced in his hometown, Marc's desire to perform for an audience has been a constant in his life. This has translated to a diverse acting skill set both in front of the camera, and in his career as a trial attorney. Marc's father, who has a work ethic that is second to none, led his family by example when instilling in their minds the characteristics of honesty, integrity, and hard work. Scott is a natural born salesman/entrepreneur/businessman/engineer, and although nearly 80 years old, he still maintains a 50+ hour workweek at his business. Marc's mother raised him, and his siblings to appreciate music and the arts. All of the children, Marc included, were required to take piano lessons for three years to provide a foundation for music appreciation. As a result, Marc now plays several instruments in addition to piano with his primary focus being the Guitar. In school, Marc graduated from college with a BA in Japanese, and later went on to receive a law degree. He has spent the majority of his legal career as a criminal prosecutor in both California and Tennessee, but has more recently changed his focus to defending the wrongly accused. Marc was married until 2012. Although they are no longer together, he remains close to his former spouse, Angela, and considers her one of his closest friends. Together, they have two children, a 14-year old daughter, and a 9-year old son.
