Roxy Kalchev

Roxy Kalchev is an American actress, born in Bulgaria. Her mother is an inspiring math teacher and personal coach, and her father is a regional manager for a big industrial company. She has an older sister, the fashion and beauty model Kathrin Kalcheva. Her grandmother Yordanka Stancheva was the only member of the family involved in acting and she appeared in big productions in the late 80s, such as the well-known movie Osadeni dushi (1975). Her mother was the first person, who noticed her talent at a very young age and encouraged her to pursue acting. She put her in acting classes at the age of five and in small local productions. Kalchev continued to work on her craft through out middle school, performing in school theatrical productions. After graduating high school in 2007, she moved with her mother to Munich, Germany. She appeared in the TV movie Entführt (2009) two years later. Kalchev arrived in the States for the first time back in 2011, initially in Buffalo, NY. Later on she moved to the Chicago area where she started intensive training in dancing. She was taking classes in modern and jazz dance with dancer and choreographer Renée Archibald at the University of Illinois. In 2015 she started with competitive ballroom dancing. Kalchev competed in both American and international ballroom dance, trained by former competitive ballroom dancers Katja Lindholm and Alex Tecza. A few years later she started teaching dance herself for the university ballroom team. She became an instructor for a local dance studio and in November 2016 she competed as a dancer in the local production of "Dancing with the CU Stars" in Savoy, IL. After more than a decade of intensive travelling, in 2017 she moved back to Europe, where she continued acting and modeling.
