"Nubia Rose '' born Núbia Silva dos Reis , married name Nubia Cohen , is a Brazilian American actress , singer-songwriter,Tv Host , movie Producer and magazine publisher, born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In Rio she attended Tablado acting school and Socila Modeling School , as a teenager Rose worked as a model on the TV children's show Os Trapalhões with Renato Aragão, broadcast by TV Globo. Nubia moved to the United States in 1988, after getting married to an American Citizen who lived in Brazil for 10 years. Nubia has dual citizenship. Daughter of Roosevelt Alves dos Reis (deceased) and Maria José Silva dos Reis , Nubia has one brother and one sister. Nubia is the baby of the family. Since moving to the United States in 1988, Rose never stopped working on new projects. Nubia is married to Dr. Jeffrey Cohen for 22 years and they have a son named Brandon- the passion of their lives. She currently publishes Nubia Rose International Magazine, in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. The magazine is an entertainment magazine that highlights the Brazilian, American and Latin lifestyles in the United States. Nubia has lived out her dream by creating a magazine which spans out to several different languages and reaches out to the individual reader not just to mass media. Her climb to success was met with numerous barriers, but she has still maintained a constant vigil over its progress. At times some would say, "Forget it, you're not going to make it." This statement motivated her and helped her proceed toward her goal even more focused and determined than ever. Rose also produced the first International Kids Day in the USA in Boca Raton. This was a daylong celebration based on the Brazilian annual tradition of honoring children with happiness, love, and gifts. Besides modeling and acting, Nubia worked as an extra in the movie The Transporter 2 with Matthew Modine. Rose worked for ten years in the Financial Services and Customer Service departments of Bank of America, and is a licensed and practicing real estate agent . In 2014 Nubia made her decision to focus attention on her acting and singing career, writing her first love song "Funtastic Love" . But, Nubia is best known as a singer-songwriter for her heart touching Christmas song "I Want Nothing For Christmas".
