Olivier Faure

Olivier Faure was born on August 18, 1968 to a French father and a Vietnamese mother. The son of a public servant and a nurse, he grew up in a popular district of Orleans. This is where he does his entire university course. He obtained a diploma in economic law there in 1991. In January 2018, Olivier Faure presented his candidacy for the post of First Secretary of the Socialist Party. With rebirth as the watchword, he is determined to succeed in re-founding the Socialist Party, to rebuild a collective and a credibility by gathering energies and talents. On March 15, 2018, the orientation text carried by Olivier Faure came out on top with 48.56% of the votes cast in a poll which brought together nearly 40,000 activists. Activists officially elect him on March 29 as the first of their own. He became the 13th First Secretary of the Socialist Party at the 78th congress in Aubervilliers on April 7 and 8, 2018.
