Rebecca Van Cleave is a British-American actress, artist and singer-songwriter. She was born in Barnes, London and spent her youth in Virginia before returning to England in 2012. Over the past 10 years she has appeared in a number of films and television shows, including Game of Thrones and Star Wars, and music videos for Ivor Novello and BRIT nominated artist Nerina Pallot and Good Cop Bad Cop - the collaborative project between Milburn's Joe Carnall and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders. She received acclaim for her leading roles in Brett Chapman's indie short Tiny Little Rocks and James Webber's award-winning horror short The Prey, which was acquired by Eli Roth and Blumhouse's Crypt TV channel and has since gained 2.3 million views to date. She also gained international praise and recognition for her work as Lena Headey's double in the multi-award winning episode "Mother's Mercy" of HBO's Game of Thrones. Emmy award-winning director David Nutter called Van Cleave's casting one of the most important parts of making the finale. "We needed somebody who could do The Walk of Shame physically, somebody who could match Lena's integrity, intensity and sensibility," Nutter told Entertainment Weekly. "We found a tremendous actress in Rebecca; she was a godsend. The courage of this girl, who's never done anything like this in her life, who understood what was important about this... once I had her I felt like I could accomplish anything." Rebecca's latest project as a singer-songwriter is The Greatest Endangered Thing. Formed with partner Samuel James Taylor, they released their debut EP in 2021.
