Stafford Perry was born and raised in Alberta, Canada. One of six siblings, Stafford grew up playing sports, including outdoor games on his parents' backyard rink. Despite his early focus on athletics, Stafford always fostered a love for acting. He decided to pursue a career in acting in his early 20s and attended the nationally recognized theatre school at the University of Alberta. After graduating with a bachelor of fine arts in acting, Stafford continued his training with two seasons in the Banff/Citadel Professional Theatre Program. In the past ten years, Stafford has had the opportunity to work on stages across Canada and internationally, garnering multiple theatre award nominations for his drama and comedy performances. In 2018, he won the Betty Mitchell Award for best-supporting actor. After cutting his acting teeth in theatre, Stafford started to gain success in film and Television. Best known for his role as Phil on the Netflix series Black Summer, Stafford also appeared in recurring roles on the CBC series Heartland, the Sci-fi Channel's Wynonna Earp, Universal's series Damnation and the APTN show Tribal. Stafford was also nominated for a Stinger award for Best Long Form Performance as a lead in the Feature Film In Plainview. He recently starred as Tyler in the thriller Remote Danger, which will be coming out at the end of 2021. When he's not acting, Stafford is pursuing his master's degree at the University of Calgary. He also works as a violence prevention leader in the community and creates programs using the arts to engage men and boys in violence prevention.
