Carlie Young was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. She knew she wanted to pursue a career in acting when she began taking acting classes at the Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts, a charter high school based in Sugar House, Utah. She has continued her actor training at Westminster College where she plans to graduate with a BFA in Theatre Performance in the Spring of 2016. New to film, most of her experience comes from theatrical performances. She has earned such memorable roles as Eponine in the Riverton Arts Council's production of Les Miserables (2012), Brooke in the Westminster Players production of Noises Off! (2012), and Mother Superior in the Leading Ladies production of Agnes of God (2013). She also performed a dramatic reading of a poem in Radical Hospitality Theater's 2015 Veterans Day charity function, ...a story for another time..., alongside such talent as co-host Charles Halford (Reggie LeDoux: True Detective; Agent Shaw: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D), comedian Sina Amedson (Quicklaffs; Man Up, Stand-Up), David H. Stevens (Ken Mercey: The Hollow Point; Interviewee: Skinwalker Ranch), and Cory Dangerfield (Mr. Winn: Christmas Under Wraps; Clerk/Kelbo: Walker, Texas Ranger). Other passions include singing and writing. She has been a member of the Westminster Chamber Singers since her freshman year of college. In addition to Afterlife, she plans to complete more screen writing projects in the future.
