Adam McClaughry

Biography

Adam McClaughry is an award-winning Los Angeles based director born and raised in Chicago, IL. Since he was seven, Adam has had an interest in storytelling, getting his start with cartoons and stop-motion animation. After moving to the Bay Area, he transitioned to live-action narrative content and began making short films with friends. In 2014, Adam moved to Los Angeles and began attending Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, pursuing his B.F.A. in Directing with a minor in Visual Effects. He is often drawn to darker narrative content, exploring stories that take place in the ignored shadows of society. Those that have worked with Adam know him for his meticulousness in each and every element of a production, and for his desire to create stories that allow the viewer freedom for interpretation. His 2015 short film, Prayers of a Pessimist, and his 2016 spec music video, titled Red Line (for Kavinksy's track Nightcall) have garnered the attention of several music artists in LA. He recently wrapped production on 'Calvari', an independent short film that will be making it's festival run in the spring of 2018. His newest narrative short, 'McCarthy', was fully funded by a series of creative grants, and is going through it's 2019 festival run. Most recently, Adam directed a documentary and a series of digital spots for FUJIFILM, as well as the music video for Marshmello and SOBXRBE's new collaboration song "Roll the Dice".
