Gala del Sol (born 1996) is a Colombian film director and writer known for her unorthodox visions, as she strives to make each of her pieces eye-opening, outrageous and unconventional. Her work is inspired by everything that doesn't seem to match its environment, all that is off-putting and intriguing. She's also constantly stealing from the decades of the '50s, '80s and '90s, and her narratives revolve around games of temporality, magical realism, surrealism and minimalism. She graduated Cum Laude with a BFA Film Production with emphasis on directing from Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, in California. Her senior thesis Transient Passengers was a finalist at the Student Academy Awards. Her short films and music videos have participated and been awarded in more than 60 festivals worldwide. She's currently working on her first feature film, Golden Rain.
