Ken Haller is an actor, writer, director, pediatrician, activist, teacher, advocate, and healer who is based in St. Louis, MO. He makes his film debut in "Cook & Banks" playing Hank, record producer and father figure to the titular pop duo. He is also an award-winning actor, having recently appeared in "Parade" (Hugh Dorsey), "Cabaret" (Herr Schultz) ,and "Gypsy" (Herbie). He has twice appeared in "Briefs." an annual festival of short plays on LGBT themes, the second time in his own short play, "Surprise!" in 2013. He has created three acclaimed cabaret shows and has performed them in New York (Don't Tell Mama) and Chicago (Davenport's), as well as in St. Louis. He has directed cabaret shows for other performers, and he was named the Best Cabaret Performer in St. Louis in 2015. When not onstage, Ken has always taken care of children who live in poor communities, first in rural South Carolina, then in East St. Louis, IL, and now in St. Louis at Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center and the Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He has been an advocate for the health care needs of all children and adolescents living in marginalized communities, including children of color and LGBT youth. He is the President-Elect of the Missouri Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, which has designated poverty and child health as a strategic priority, and he is the immediate past President on Promo, Missouri's statewide LGBT civil rights organization.
