Growing up in South Florida, I was often the odd man out, the one who didn't speak Spanish and wasn't privy to the culture. Over and over, my ignorance was met with welcoming acceptance. This philosophy of acceptance is one that I've carried with me since my childhood and informed the creation of my senior thesis Peachtree Place, a show about a group of immigrants living in America, trying to find a sense of normalcy. The purpose of this is to give a platform to those who may not otherwise have a voice and create opportunities for stories to be created by people who may have never gotten that chance, be performed by people who haven't seen their stories told before. That's my mission and the mission of my work.
