Sophie Kettle Smith is a writer/director from South London who after graduating from King's College London has been creating short films that tell person-centric stories. She has worked with the Dickens Theatre Company to film their stage productions to be shown in schools so that all children have the opportunity to see and understand theatre. Her first short film, 'Reconnected' (2020), is about an elderly man (Eric Richard) that finds himself shut off from the rest of the world. The film was written, shot and released in the 2020 lockdown. 'Soltada' is about a young dancer, Illiana (Isabella Kibble) who is pushed to her limits by her overbearing instructor, Coach Dee (Amelda Brown).
