Jailen Bates is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana. He started out doing community theatre at the age of four when his family moved to Northern California. He started his training in San Francisco when his parents noticed he loved to sing and perform around the house. In late 2014 Jailen moved to Los Angeles, California and continued to train in the commercial and theatrical field. In Los Angeles, he was discovered by an agent and manager. Jailen continues to train and believes that acting is a craft that can be continuously improved. He prides himself in his ability to digest a script quickly, improv and perform a character breakdown. Jailen enjoys making original films with his brother and friends, participating in camera work, script writing and editing. In 2015, at the age of 9, Jailen became a series regular in the Nickelodeon show WITS Academy. In 2016 he went on to become a series regular in OMG! for Dreamworkstv. Jailen has made several guest star and co-star appearances on television shows like ABC's Dr. Ken, Disney XD's Walk The Prank, and Tvland's Teachers. He has also been a recurring character on CBS's hit comedy Superior Donuts and was the announcer for Gwen Stefani's NBC Christmas Special You Make It Feel Like Christmas. Jailen has also participated in the Groundlings Diversity Festival with Nickelodeon and has done stand up comedy at the HaHa Club. He is also known for his commercial work. Jailen is a strong believer and supporter in giving back to the community. Over the last several years he has participated in the Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk, Salvation Army's LA Feast of Sharing, Teen Cancer America, School on Wheels, the Los Angeles Mission's Backpack Giveaway and Skid Row Christmas Event.
