Shira Wilson is an actor, improviser and comic originally from Washington State. She attended Columbia College Chicago where she received a BA in acting and also trained at The Second City in music, improv and sketch writing as well as the Del Close founded iO theater where she performed on several Harold teams. She was also an ensemble member of the city's longest running music improv ensemble Baby Wants Candy. As a stand up she performed at The Lincoln Lodge and The Laugh Factory, and did several productions in Chicago's storefront theater scene. Shira often plays characters who are fiercely protective, speak before they think and are a little bit neurotic. She is your reluctant leader, problem solving aunt, keyboard social justice warrior, quirky romantic who struggles with her place in modern romance, or jaded mom who fantasizes about her former life. She exudes the confident awkwardness of Kristin Wiig coupled with the dry brashness of Katherine Hahn resulting in characters that may feel insecure about their own strength but are going to take up space nonetheless. Shira is an animal enthusiast and chocolate snob who caught the acting bug at age 5 when she longed to be a Muppeteer or voice a Disney Character (Still does!) And her ring fingers are double jointed! Recent credits include: Somebody music video, the comedy/horror short Killer Karaoke, and theatrical productions of Mr. Ballview's Thanksgiving Relay and Lost in Yonkers.
