Allison Baver

Writer | Actress
Date of birth : 08/11/1980
City of birth : Reading, Pennsylvania, USA

Allison Baver was born in Reading, PA, a small city near Philadelphia, PA. The daughter of Dixie and Bradley Baver Sr., she is the oldest of three siblings including Crystal and Bradley Baver Jr. Her career in entertainment evolved organically as she built a track record of success over three Olympic Games (2002, 2006 and 2010) as a Short Track Speed Skater. In 2007 Allison became the first ever Olympic athlete to sign with a major modeling agency, Wilhelmina Models NYC Sports Division. In 2009 Baver suffered a tragic injury breaking her right leg and ankle in a collision with a teammate one year before the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. This brought her to the pinnacle of Olympic sports, in 2010, when Baver made history in a near impossible comeback and won an Olympic Bronze Medal. Baver also made history when she became one of the first female Olympian spokesperson for the coveted Proctor and Gamble Beauty, cementing her status as a preeminent Olympian and model. Along with her athletic success came other lucrative marketing opportunities with a handful of other major brands and appearances in print media, television and public speaking. Although Baver graduated from Penn State with a degree in Marketing and Management and from New York Institute of Technology with her MBA in Marketing, Allison was told she had "great camera presence" and could "humanize a character" and conceptualized to parlay her Olympic fame and print media work into a career in television and Hollywood. Her love for performing began as a child as a tap, jazz and ballet dancer for 9 years. Outside of skating and other sports like soccer, Allison was a UCA and UDA All Star Cheerleader and Dancer and cheer captain. With a passion for being in front of the camera ever since a young girl, coincidentally striking a post in every family photo, she expanded her talents into non-scripted television in hosting and acting roles where she appeared frequently as herself in the US and other international markets during the remainder of her athletic career. While she is also known for being "the most studious athlete" by Sports Illustrated (2006) and for having "the best legs and hottest body in sports" and her booty featured in ESPN Magazine Body Shots, Baver remains down-to-earth and has a graceful, engaging sense of humor. She is the founder of Allison Baver Foundation, recipient of the Penn State Alumni Achievement Award and inductee into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. In February 2018, Baver officially retired from Olympic sports and launched her designer active fashion brand, Allison Baver Sport. Baver has made a natural transition from training in the ice rink, to rehearsing in the studio. Also in 2018, Allison appeared as Christa in the film Adverse (2019). Allison Baver Entertainment was established in 2019 for her role as Executive Producer, Producer, Creative Director and Actress in media properties inspiring human performance and making a social impact.
