Vicki Bartholomew writes for family audiences. She was born in a small town in Oklahoma. The first movie she ever saw was at a drive-in theater in the next town and the first stage play she saw was at Depew High School which was directed by her mother Edith Hopper. She never caught the acting bug but later discovered writing plays when her children performed in Youth Theatre at Patio Playhouse in Escondido,California. She was hooked on writing after seeing her first production performed at Columbia Entertainment Company in Columbia, Missouri when she won The Jackie White Award. After twenty years of writing plays, she wrote her first screenplay "Dragonflies and Elephants". The story was influenced by her time in the Peace Corps in Thailand and she has written four more Asian screenplays since then. Her screenplay "Cream Cakes" with an all Chinese cast won at Action on Film, Moondance, Universe Multicultural, and International Family Film Festivals.
