Andrew Atkinson was born April 2, 1986 to William and Cindy Atkinson in Lafayette Louisiana. He was raised in Mobile AL. He was capably schooled at home by his parents, who both possessed a Masters degree in Education. He began piano lessons with his mother at age six, and continued through the completion of high school. After completion of high school studies, Andrew realized his dream of pursuing his musical studies in college. He enrolled at Thomas Edison State college in 2006, while taking his music classes at the University of South Alabama. His piano instructor, Dr. Robert Holm, is part of the prestigious group of Steinway piano artists. During his time at South Alabama he was involved in accompaniment for opera singers, theater performers, and was an active performer on the concert stage. Andrew received his BA in Music in the spring of 2009. He continued his private piano studies for the next 4 years, while actively pursuing other avenues of interest. He also has 16 years of independent study on the pipe organ, and can be heard regularly at organ concerts, and working as organist/choirmaster at multiple churches across the region. His first work in film was as a professional civil war re-en-actor in the independent documentary, Thunder on the Bay. Andrew also worked as a blacksmith apprentice for a show on Alabama Public Television. More recently he can be seen in the Sony film Kill'Em All, The Cornbread Cosa Nostra, Der Freidenkorper, and the Nicholas Cage Film, USS Indianapolis Men of Courage. Andrew is an accomplished pianist, organist, speaker, writer, and has a fine knowledge of fencing, basketball, volleyball, swimming. He has a excellent working knowledge of Spanish.
