Professional Athlete and Actress, named Sarah Joy Davis on her birth certificate although she has always preferred Sarahjoy, was born April 8, 1979 in Long Beach, California. She's the only child of lifelong runner Alvis Davis and interior designer Patricia [Loya]. Alvis, born in Kentucky, is first generation American. His mother, born in Cuba, came to the states before Fidel Castro's reign, when it was legal to vacation in the USA from Cuba, got married and never left. Alvis has four sisters (one deceased) and a brother. Her mother Patricia, born in Illinois, has one brother and one half brother (deceased). Sarahjoy attended Mount Calvary Lutheran School in Diamond Bar and De Portola Elementary in Mission Viejo. Sarahjoy started riding horses at age nine. At eleven she began jumping in competitions while attending Serrano Junior High in Lake Forest. By fifteen she had two full competition sponsors. On a western pleasure Quarter Horse and on an endurance Arabian, while still showing her own Thoroughbred hunter. At this time Sarahjoy left Trabuco Hills High School to home study, so she could continue showing horses uninterrupted, and graduated a year early. 2000 marked the beginning of her professional riding career, training and showing hunter/jumper horses. Sarahjoy met her first husband Adam Crain in 2000, they married in 2001. Sadly the two divorced in 2004. In 2010 Sarahjoy moved to New Mexico, where she met Joseph Mount. 2012 the engaged couple moved to Texas to advance her husband's career as a CPA. Still riding professionally in 2015 Sarahjoy married Joseph and decided to take up modeling/acting as a safer pastime to her first love, horses.
