A director and a method actor, as described by his peers for his authentic motivations. Marc Asselin is a naturalized American originally from Québec, Canada. He studied arts and cinematography at University of Montréal but left school in 1998 to pursue a career as an acrobatic rigger with Cirque Du Soleil working around the world. Many adventures followed. Marc continued filmmaking while with Cirque by making shorts. Many of his videos can be found on his "Poutine Action Films" Youtube page. After migrating to the USA in 2009, Marc started crewing for the all-girl tribute band "The Iron Maidens". Since the job often entailed a lot of traveling, he came up with the idea of making a documentary about it called "Heavy Metal Road Dog" (2016) Plus, it was cheap. He could work for the band and film it at the same time. He later created a music video of the song "The Wicker Man" (2022) performed by The Iron Maidens. Asselin has a variety of skills including musicianship, editing, stunt rigging, drone cinematography, creature and motion design. Today, Marc is based in Southern California and continues working with Cirque Du Soleil around the world and can be found working on various TV series in Los Angeles as an actor.
