Judy Go Wong is an American-born Chinese woman raised by Cantonese-speaking parents in Long Island, New York. She grew up in her grandfather's restaurants, becoming an assistant manager in her teens and opening restaurants at the age of 25. She now lives in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area with her wonderful husband of 24 years and lovely 15-year-old daughter. Judy began acting late in life when local business owners asked her to appear in ads, websites, and TV commercials. She is now a SAG-AFTRA actor who has spent four seasons on House of Cards and three seasons on VEEP. As an award-winning filmmaker, Judy has worked in a number of positions on film sets. She has experience as a voiceover artist, singer, producer, director, casting director, set designer, hair/makeup artist, wardrobe artist, and craft services manager. She is the author of How to Start a Film Acting Career Right Where You Live. Judy is a teacher at heart. Besides working as a private acting coach, conducting acting workshops, she mentored the 2017-2018 Smithsonian Freer Sackler Teen Council, teaching life skills and confidence in all areas of filmmaking. She was the former Director of Operations and Festival Director of the DC Asian Pacific American Film Festival. Along with her husband, Judy has led Crown Ministries, a 12-week course about how to budget and get out of debt, for the past two decades. She and her husband have also led a class for young married couples, giving them tools to grow healthy marriages. In 1983 Judy had served at Ascension Episcopal Church as praise and worship leader ministering to prisoners with Prison Fellowship. Having gone through 40 years of healing herself, Judy became a certified massage therapist to help others heal. Judy speaks at conferences and retreats to educate people about holistic healing.
