Julia Frances

Julia Frances born Yulia Vitalevna Souchtchinskaia on 1 December 1989. Born in Ukraine, as a child immigrated with her parents to England to avoid political corruption. Frances is an artist, photographer, occasional actor, producer, video and filmmaker. The latter being her main focus, her work has been associated with Cinéma vérité styles, the narratives tend to be slow and rhythmic, static cinematography coupled with erratic camera movement. The subject matters of her films tend to be focused on marginalised communities and individuals that have been edged to desperation, faced with difficult moral dilemmas.
