Alan Jeffrey Hayes was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He is an American screenwriter, director and producer. He is known for Columbia Heights (TV drama), Fatal Deception (miniseries), Heroes (science fiction web short), Before the End (web short), The Showrunner (TV drama), and other movies and television. Hayes attended James M. Bennett High School in Salisbury, Maryland, and received his High School Diploma in 1975. He attended Wesley College (Associate of Arts - 1977), University of Maryland, and Excelsior College (Associate of Arts, Bachelor's - 1980). He is also a veteran of the United States Air Force. He has had numerous career highlights, including managing Air Traffic Control Systems for the Federal Aviation Administration and Department of Defense, and led the effort to provide launch and re-entry support to the NASA Space Shuttle Program. Recently Hayes opened a non-profit space science museum in southern Maryland. Hayes has been screenwriting for many years, and has held numerous positions in television and movie production. He lives in Maryland with his family.
