Sara Luosta

Sara Luosta is born 7.12.1990 in Helsinki, Finland. Her parents are divorced, mother working in software, and father in construction. She has a younger brother (born 1994, studies history and politics) and an older brother (born 1987, studies and works in travel industry), both very close to her. She grew up with several cousins as well, so she has many loved ones. Grown up in Vaarala, Vantaa, she always loved singing, writing and climbing along with endless other activities. As a child, you could find her sitting in the middle of a glade, or under a bridge, walking along streams, jumping on top of rocks, and climbing trees, all the while singing tunes and words that arose from the moment. Improvisation was as natural as breathing to her. Later, fears of embarrassment suppressed a lot of her creation, but she kept writing and photographing through her stormy teenage. In addition to the usual ups and downs of puberty, Sara suffered almost ten years of difficult depression and anxiety disorder. After high school she tried several jobs, including cleaning, construction, gardening, secretarial work, autism work, and being a waitress, as well as a nanny. She was also studying environmental engineering for a time. However, she couldn't keep up with modern life and fell into passiveness. In her 20's a deep and trustful love relationship, psychotherapy, close friends and family, and mindful experiments with cannabis helped her climb up from the well of depression, and start living again. She went for 3 months to Australia to break free from her old self, and came back as a strong, independent woman. Since the Australian adventure, Sara has gotten closer to her spiritual home and family. She usually doesn't work or study, just helps everyone she meets, travels, and makes art. She attended her first conscious sexuality festival (Wonderlust in Helsinki) in 2014, and has since been involved with the sex positive scene, and kept helping people heal from sexual and social trauma. Later the same year she founded her first band, ODD (abbreviated from Our Deep Desires), to explore voice, music and deep emotions. Valentine's day 2015 she went to a short film festival (Kino Kabaret in Helsinki) for the first time, which sparked her love for audiovisual arts. After acting in several short films, she started trying out other film making positions, including directing. Direction has become another explosive passion of hers, and her works can be found on Vimeo. Sara lives and travels by herself, learning how to be a child still, and see all of life as play and wonder.
