Gerardo Martínez Ruiz was born in the small town Moroleón Guanajuato, México. At a young age he started making stop-motion films with his father's Hi-8 camera and his sets of LEGO Star Wars. As a self-taught artist he learned to code and to develop VFX to enhance his zero-budget productions, a tool he used to establish his voice. His directorial style is often characterized by stylized images and non-linear narratives. He has received multiple awards for his work in film and advertising such as CLIO, Webby and Telly Awards, as well as film festivals around the world. He is the founder of Meta·Human Motion Picture Co. a creative studio developing scripted and non-scripted content for diverse media.
