Edward Conrad Beveridge was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Ed Beveridge, a mechanic and automotive expert, and Jayne Foster (Beveridge). He grew up in Pittsburgh a distinguished athlete. His parents were both born and raised in the Pittsburgh area. He is of Scottish, Irish, and German descent. After losing his athletic eligibility in his junior year of high school and being forced to sit out the entire year, his focus began shifting to acting. He got his first taste during his time in college, where he performed on stage and helped direct work for classmates. His instructors both felt he should move to Los Angeles or New York City and pursue a career. He chose to stay in Pittsburgh initially where he felt an opportunity might present itself. In 2015, the decision would pay off and come to fruition when Outsiders, a television show starring David Morse and being produced by Paul Giamatti and Peter Tolan came to town for production. The show, created by Peter Mattei, told the story of the Farrell clan. A large family, living off the grid in the mountains of Kentucky and beyond the workings of society for over 200 years, who's way of life is threatened by a coal company looking to profit from mining their land. The show enjoyed a strong start and quickly became a hit for WGN America. Beveridge, after previously auditioning for the show twice, was cast in the 9th episode of the first season in a role he would later find out was actually created with him in mind. His presence was felt immediately and he found himself returning for the remainder of the first season as well as being brought back for season 2. He ascended to series regular status in that 2nd season and the show grew to be the most successful in the history of the network for WGN. Beveridge is the eldest of the three children which includes a sister, Lena, and brother, Johnny.
