Raised in rural Tasmania by a conservative father and a '60s-hippy mother, Kryz Woodhouse has always had an affinity with the stories of lives transformed. While working as a local video producer, he became interested in short films and undertook a number of amateur roles before finding his niche in screenwriting. His screenplay Two Damaged reached the top 10 per cent for the Academy Nicholl Fellowship before going on to be shortlisted in the Warner Bros, The Black List and Veerhuis Pictures' Script Writing Initiative. Kryz also wrote Dead Sam Walking, which also placed well in the Academy Nicholl Fellowship and became a semi-finalist in the We Screenplay Diverse Voices Contest.
