Classically and modern trained actor, Umit Erlim has played variety of roles from Shakespeare to Brecht in theaters. He acted in popular Turkish TV-series "Pis Yedili" for 3 years. After he graduated from Kadir Has University Theatre Department, he moved to London and pursued MA in Performance degree at Goldsmiths University of London. The program has allowed him to mature as an actor and to develop the skills he learned during his degree and on work he has done, which is called "My Name is B.". He performed in the Merge Festival, ArtsAdmin, Camden People's Theatre and The Proud Archivist. His first feature film "Nadide Hayat" is directed by Cagan Irmak. His other feature films "Göçebe (Nomad)" and TV-film "Seviyorum ama Arkadasça" which was produced by BKM. In theatre, he acted in IKSV & Galata Perform co-production "Old Child" which was premiered in Istanbul Theatre Festival. He was born and grew up in Istanbul, played basketball for 8 years, studied physics for 3 years in ITU. He traveled to Sweden, Poland, Germany, France with an international street theatre company. In 2014, he was invited 20th Sarajevo Film Festival's Talents Program and he was in Sarajevo's Promising Young Artists. He is also interested in contemporary theatre, writing screenplays, and new approaches on story-telling.
