Zyra Shemitha

Zyra Shemitha Quierrez, born on June 4, 1994, grew up in Bacoor, Cavite, a town just outside Metro Manila, Philippines. Zyra has been interested in acting and singing since she was 8 years old. She joined her school's theater club at age 10 and has since then participated in different plays including Florante at Laura, Noli Me Tangere, Dante's Inferno, Murderess and Four Sisters and A Wedding. In junior high, she joined her high school's pop singing club and then became a member of the school choir in her senior year. In 2010, she went to Colegio de San Juan de Letran Manila where she earned a BA with a major in Communication Arts. She continued to pursue her love for choral singing in college after passing the audition for Templar Chorus of Letran. After college, she went to pursue her dream in acting and took up Diploma Program in Performing Arts- Acting at the International Academy of Film and Television Cebu. She starred in different student films during her entire stay at the academy portraying various roles from a daughter to a young mother to a psycho girlfriend. After completing the program, she graduated as the sole recipient of the Academic Excellence Award in her batch. Aside from acting and singing, Zyra also took lessons on ice skating and Taekwondo. She can also play the bamboo flute and recorder, which she learned at the age of 8 and 9, respectively. She is also learning to play the piano. When it comes to sports, Zyra loves basketball, badminton and bowling. Moreover, she also knows basic Spanish and basic ASL.
