Joe Costa is a very versatile actor and is well known in the Philadelphia area for his dark antagonistic characters on stage in "NAT" and "To Death a Mother's Love". He has been training under Bryan Fox at The Actor's Lab. He has recently wrapped several local independent films with dark villainous characters. Joe jokingly said "contrary to the person I think I am, I tend to play the bad guy." He was born in South Philadelphia, and he still lives in the area. He has been involved in the arts since childhood. He began his career of artistry as a rapper at the age of 15--his first love--which sparked his passion for artistic expression. He still records music in his free time as a hobby, which he says he will always remain quite passionate about. Art is life for Joe, and he believes in its importance in society. He has a long list of skill-sets that are transferable to the big screen: boxing, rapping, skateboarding, poetry, accents and weightlifting. When questioned about his artistic passions and endeavors, he said "acting is now in the forefront." Although he began his career as an actor in his 20s, it had always been his dream to pursue it since early childhood. Even though he'd never had many opportunities to follow his dream, his dream found him. Luck is when preparation meets opportunity, or as Joe would say, "when opportunity meets passion." He's dedicated to his craft, traveling back and forth between Philadelphia and New York, to audition after audition, role after role, character after character, opportunity after opportunity, from TV to Film, both Theatrical and Commercial. "I am looking forward to working in the next Oscar-nominated film along side Johnny Depp and Christian Bale!"
