Renato N. Estacio grew up on Yokosuka Naval Base in Japan. He serves as Commissioner with the New Mexico Music Commission (September 2014 - May 2018) and Music Director for St. Chad's Episcopal Church in Albuquerque, NM. In February of 2015, he became District Director for the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, establishing the 42nd District for the New York-based, world-renowned opera company. In March of 2015, he helped establish the Resident Arts Program at the African American Performing Arts Center and Exhibit Hall in Albuquerque, NM. He served as the Interim Music Director for the Albuquerque Civic Chorus during their 2014 - 2015 transitional year. Renato N. Estacio holds degrees in English literature (BA), marketing (MBA-Honors), vocal performance (BMus/MMus), and is completing a PhD in Public Affairs. Renato studied voice, movement and acting (Meisner) at the Neighborhood Playhouse, under the guidance of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), and the Acting Studio. He studied voice under Dr. Alfonse Anderson of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and also sings as a countertenor. While a business student, his team placed 2nd in a National Accounting Case Study Competition sponsored by Deloitte and Touche; as a music student, he won first place in his division for the National Association of Teachers of Singing and graduated Magna Cum Laude in voice performance. He has presented at conferences in the social sciences and regularly reviews articles for the Social Science Quarterly. Some of his performing credits include performing for VIP events at local casinos, the Star Spangled Banner at MMA events, Opera Director for The Medium, Thomas Putnam (The Crucible), Masetto (Don Giovanni), Marco (Gianni Schicchi), If Men Played Cards as Women Do, Player 4 (A Hand of Bridge), Strephon (Iolanthe), Despard Murgatroyd (Ruddigore), Gentleman Starkey (Peter Pan), Cowardly Lion/ Tin Woodsman/ Guardian of the Gates (Wizard of Oz), and Brian Furman (Christmas Recaptured).
