Cameron Manion is a Sydney based an award winning writer, artist and film maker. He has worked in Australia, the UK and Spain on various film, photography and writing projects. Cameron became a fan of the surreal and absurd while studying film at The University of Technology, Sydney. He later studied film and television in Madrid, living near the student quarters of Dali and studying under the surrealist methods of the 20th century. He started his film journey working on events like World Rare Disease Day with Steve Waugh and Georgie Parter, directed online advertisement campaigns and their shoots for organisations like Fusion and both directed and assistant directed several short films screened in festivals and public screenings throughout Australia and Madrid. His short film, Black Dog, was awarded the Golden Eye Award for Best Experimental Video (2015) by the Australian Broadcasting Network before it was re-edited for festivals. His projects focus on the dark, political and surreal. His films have been recognised through Madrid, Berlin and in Sydney for their impacting ideas and quality.
