For nearly three decades Philadelphia native Mister Mann Frisby has thrived as a creative force in a number of writing disciplines. Following his college graduation in 1997,he worked for the Philadelphia Daily News where he primarily wrote features on film, television and music personalities. After only three years as a news reporter, he resigned his position to pursue a literary career and eventually secured a deal with Penguin Books. He has since written two 'urban-suspense' novels, two motivational books for young adults, and more recently self published a series of humorous short stories that ranked high on Amazon's best seller list. In 2018, Frisby served as a creative consultant for the first ever hip-hop residency on the world famous Las Vegas strip. He worked closely with iconic female rap group Salt-n-Pepa at the Paris Hotel & Casino in developing a high energy set for audiences. A year prior he worked as a co-creator and creative consultant for Grammy Award winning singer Jill Scott's line of Hallmark (Mahogany) greeting cards which debuted in 2017. In October of 2020, the Penn State grad made his filmmaking debut with the release of 'The Illadelphia Glow', a sci-if/drama which he wrote and directed. The short film has received both critical acclaim and rousing reviews from fans since making its debut on the Amazon Prime platform. During the same month he served as an Associate Producer on an episode of Oxygen's true crime docuseries 'Buried in the Backyard' which chronicled the tragic death of high school track star Shilie Turner. Although the ceremony was postponed in May of 2020 due to COVID, Frisby was selected for induction into the Overbrook High School Hall of Fame joining such luminaries as Wilt Chamberlain and Will Smith. He is the proud father of one daughter Skye, 19, who is also an aspiring writer.
