Casey Ruff was born on January 21st, 1984, in Billings, Montana to Kathleen (Perrin), a music teacher, and Leslie Ruff, a farmer and rancher. His ancestry is primarily Germanic, though he self-identifies as ethnically Montanan. He is the fifth generation of his bloodline hailing from the Big Sky State. Casey grew up in the town of Custer, Montana, on his family farm and within his grandparents bar and restaurant, the Junction CIty Saloon. He excelled primarily in music, but also participated in athletics, FFA, and what modest art programs the small K-12 public school of Custer had to offer. After graduating from Custer in 2002 he attended Montana State University Billings where he studied Music Education. After two years he suspended academics and moved to Seattle, Washington in 2005 to pursue a life as a singer songwriter. Since moving to Seattle, Casey has found success in the rich artistic communities Seattle has to offer, having his music featured in various soundtracks and providing bit parts in local film productions. His band "Casey Ruff and the Mayors of Ballard" perform regularly throughout the Seattle area and have a reputation for frenetic entertainment, where the term "live show" is continuously refined and redefined. With four music albums under his belt (2 released as of 2016 and 2 pending), Casey has since branched into writing novels and screenplays.
