Holding a degree in music ministries leadership from Bethany University, Micayla De Ette is an LA-based singer-songwriter, worship leader, actress, model, and vocal coach. Classically trained, possessing a 5 octave range, and with a background in theater, gospel, R&B, blues, pop, and opera, Micayla's greatest passion growing up was always theater. Fittingly, she was voted "Most Likely to be on Broadway" by her high school class. However, once audiences began to get a taste of Micayla's outstanding voice, singing quickly came to the forefront of her career. Micayla and her former band, "Hungry," have opened for many well known artists in the Christian music world, including Kirk Franklin, Sandy Patti, Sonic Flood, Nicole C. Mullen, Salvador, Tree 63, 4Him, Rebecca St. James, Sierra, among others. During the early part of her career, Micayla toured with acclaimed gospel music artist Eddie James, serving as a soloist on his critically acclaimed album, "Fire." Having already released her own self-titled EP, Micayla has also written, directed, and starred in two well-received original plays, "Hope Changes Everything" and "The Gift." In June 2016, Micayla was chosen as a featured model by one of the fashion industry's leading plus sized clothing lines, Torrid. The popular campaign, #inmyjeans, featured plus sized models Philomena Kwao, Georgina Burke, Lyanna Lynette, and Orange is the New Black's Adrienne C. Moore. Most recently, Micayla played the lead role in the upcoming feature film Hold On (2019), a project that is inspired by her real-life experiences and features live performances of several of her original songs. The film, which is accompanied by a full-length soundtrack, is set for a theatrical release in December 2019. Micayla is also the co-founder of De Ette Dream Productions, a Los Angeles-based music production company that aims to provide a voice and platform for talented artists who have been overlooked.
