Bobo Norco

Bobo Norco arrived on the hip-hop scene of 2012 as Bobo, a versatile rapper who offered a new spin to the urban and pop styles of today's music. With space-age effects, new-school beats, R&B and funk-influenced musical bedding, and lyrics that can make you dance and think, he helped kick off a new contemporary hip-hop movement. He was born in the Bay Area town of Santa Rosa, California, the only child of parents who divorced when he was only two years old. After being expelled from Santa Rosa High School, Norco joined the rap group Gutta Game, which opened for national acts including Trick Trick, Freeway and Problem. In his neighborhood, he was known as Bobo, and his Northern California heritage eventually completed his showbiz/stage name, Bobo Norco. Beginning his career as an independent artist, Norco started selling his CDs out of his car to get his music heard. In January 2013 Norco released a single titled "Roll Call" which is a tribute to the San Francisco 49ers. The song featured Really Real and was featured in several media sources including Rap Radar, The Press Democrat, VladTV, and AllHipHop. In the fall of 2013 Norco kicked off his career and began to work on his debut project, Keep It XO. Released under his label NLNF Entertainment, the mixtape, with its single "You," became a hit amongst rap, pop, and EDM fans. Bobo Norco followed two months later with The XO Album which featured his anthem track "NLNF," which explains his stance on the status of his female relationships. The buzz from this album landed him a live concert performance at SXSW opening up for Twista. Although his latest album release was a success, it was his first hit single, "You" that made the biggest splash in the music scene. The track was put in rotation on FM radio throughout the United States and Europe and sparked a national tour that demanded Norco to appear in person in radio station interviews throughout the country. Soon after, another single emerged from his first project entitled, "Music Blow My Brain". The track has a psychedelic feel with a smooth electronic beat and it was a hit on college FM radio which quickly spread across the U.S. His radio fame also spilled over into print media. Norco was seen with a full page features in XXL's 2014 Freshman Issue, The Source, Alternative Press, and the official Van's Warped Tour guide. He was then promoted to the front of publications and graced the covers of Stardom 101, Fresh, HYPE, and Coast2Coast Magazines. After the release of his Break Your Heart video, top40-charts.com stated "His powerful lyrics and electrifying showmanship have positioned BoBo Norco as the hottest new artist out of California." His fans have hailed him as a lyrical chameleon.
