Born in the North of Russia, after the collapse of the Soviet Union her family immigrated to Finland where she soon started taking ballet classes. She was recognized as a young promising dancer and was awarded a Pro Dance Scholarship. Elina received most of her training in Helsinki as well as in Paris, Cannes, Copenhagen and Amsterdam. After completing high school she was offered a contract with the Finnish National Ballet. A year later during her trip to New York for an International Ballet Competition she was invited to join the prestigious American Ballet Theatre as the first ballerina from Finland. Elina spent a decade dancing with ABT and touring the world performing featured roles in nearly all the classical ballets. Slowly her main focus turned to film and TV which made her leave the ballet company life. Elina is bicoastal, works in between New York and Los Angeles. She is trilingual, fluent Finnish and Russian in addition to English.
