Jonas Bernholm, born November 25, 1946, in Stockholm, Sweden, is a producer. During the 1960's and '70's he became known as Mr. R&B to the music world. Jonas Bernholm's passion for black American music was the driving force behind his aim to re-establish some of the real pioneers. He founded a great number of record labels to re-issue rare albums of great importance, with the full consent of copyright holders and artists. Furthermore he made it possible for those artists to finally make some money from their music, by offering them favorable agreements. Jonas Bernholm also produced some new live recordings while he arranged tours in Europe for a selected group av artists. The Smithsonian Institution is harboring eight cubic feet of documents relating to Jonas Bernholm's lifelong interest and work promoting black American music. Correspondence between Bernholm and numerous R&B artists, collaborators, record companies, and fan clubs; Bernholm's research and notes on R&B artists; printed material such as press releases, articles and newsletters on R&B artists. For the past twenty years Jonas Bernholm has been engaged as a recognized advisor and professional investor of shares and securities in Sweden.
