Leandro Amorim-Downie is a Toronto born multi-award winning filmmaker including most recently the Award of Excellence at Canada shorts and the coveted Universal Studios Award for Excellence in Filmmaking in 2017. In June of 2018 Leandro graduated with honours from Ryerson University's School of Image Arts with a BFA in Film Studies with an honours GPA of 4.070. He has continued to immerse himself in a life focused on storytelling through impactful and meaningful character relationships. With work as a screenwriter, director, editor, and producer, his love for characters (and the stories they tell) continues to drive him toward the future through a diverse range of mediums and stories. Trained in traditional as well as in virtual reality filmmaking, Leandro has worked on projects for companies such as Discovery, Team Sharkwater, RSA Films, Cream Productions, Lexus, The American History Channel, The Travel Channel, Bell Media, the CBC, and the Canadian Film Centre's digital media lab.
